Austin Adventure Racers 2008 (AAR) is an adventure
racing club that races and trains in and around the beautiful hill
country of Austin, Texas. Our weekly training is for everyone
from beginners to expert and designed so that all may be challenged. All
events are posted on our yahoo group.

What is Adventure
Racing?????
Adventure racing
is a combination of two or more disciplines, including
orienteering
and
navigation,
cross-country running,
mountain biking,
paddling
and
climbing
and related rope skills. An expedition event can span ten days
or more while sprints can be completed in a matter of hours.
There is typically no dark period during races,
irrespective of length; competitors must choose if or when to
rest.
Adventure
racing historically required teams to be of a specified size and
to include both men and women, but many races no longer restrict
team size and include single-sex divisions. Some also include
age-based categories. Taken from

Now Accepting 2008 Sponsors!
Austin Adventure Racers is
currently accepting new sponsors for 2008. $100 donation
includes a website link and logo on the back of our race shirts
or $50 for either race shirt or website. Sponsorship helps to
pay for club insurance and other costs associated with running
the organization. Sponsor donations help keep our membership
dues low. AAR members proudly support our sponsors! If you are

present the 2008 Texas Adv Race
Calendar. This free, easy to display calendar will fit perfectly on any
refrigerator so you don't miss the next great event. It even looks
pretty cool. Keep your eyes open, they will be in race packets and shops all around Texas.

Membership is open to anyone that is interested in adventure racing
and would like to support our club. Club dues are $35.00 for
2008. Members receive special discounts from our club sponsors + $25
in race coupons. If you
